Illuminated Fibre (WDM) is a fibre-optic data network
reserved only for you
Each carrier (wave) has its own colour. This allows many waves
to be carried over the same fibre without interfering with each
other. The physical separation of data flows means that we never
mix your data and the data of others on our fibre network. This in
turn results in a very high level of security. In practice, the
data flows on each carrier wave of light are impossible to break
into.
High speeds & very slight delays
Illuminated Fibre gives you the freedom to use a new
generation of applications
Illuminated Fibre offers from 1G to 10G bits per second per
wavelength and up to 40 waves on a single fibre. This gives a
maximum capacity per fibre of 400G bits per second. At the same
time, you get an extremely low delay - also called latency - in the
data stream. This means that your network performs optimally, even
when it comes to real-time applications such as video transmission,
mirroring of data centers, IP telephony, etc.
Transparency
We provide the light - you choose your
preferred transport technology.
Because Illuminated Fibre uses WDM (Wavelength Division
Multiplexing), the solution is transparent to any network protocol
that you wish to use - or perhaps already are using - from Ethernet
to FICON and STM-64. The choice is yours.
